Over 50 packed into Aros, Portree last week for the last of the winter series of the Yes Skye, Raasay & Lochalsh White Paper Roadshow. A straw poll revealed that over 90% of those attending were already in favour of a Yes vote, with a small number still undecided and only one declared for no.

Yes SRL lead co-ordinator Carole Inglis said: "The majority of the meetings have been well attended with an average of between ten and thirty at each of the seven venues in Skye and Lochalsh.

"We have been overwhelmed by local interest in the referendum. Long may it continue, as the more informed people become, the more they move towards a Yes vote."
