The Spirit of Independence drew a crowd in Portre this afternoon, as Chris Law brought his converted 1950's Green Goddess fire engine over the sea to Skye.

Crowd source funded, and beautifully illustrated by Scots artist Stewart Bremner, The Spirit of Independence has been engaging, informing and inspiring all those who come into contact with Chris and crew as they yravel around Scotland, in the lead up to Scotland's historic referendum.

Along with its operator and campaigner Chris Law, the former Green Goddess fire engine, was brought back ‘into service’ after almost 60 years.  Its exterior is specially designed, to encapsulate and embody that spirit; the heart and the imagination of hope and promise that comes with being a progressive and outward looking nation state once again.
